I found two of these units recently. Both are
fully loaded with 1588 mic pre's.They sound fantastic.I was wondering if any knew how to bypass the mixer section to output each of the five blanced inputs to a discrete output.I'm also interested in DI'ing guitar and bass and wanted to know which of the plug-ins was most
appropriate.(I like the Motown type of DI sound.)Thanks in advance,

I HAVE ALL THE PAPERS ON THE 1592-A
AND ALL THE TRANSFORMERS FOR SAME
I THINK THE ONLY DIFFERANCE IN THE
    (A) TO(B) IS TUBE OR TRANSISTOR.

dazz------the 1592-B was a great mixer-------the 1592-A was awful--------they were both transistor units but the A was somewhat noisy suffered from signal overload and had terrible RF problems-----i tried several of them in churches when they first came out and it was in the early 70's during the start of the CB craze--------every single church complained about CB's transmissions interrupting the church services--------so much for Altec quality!!!!!!------it was extremely embarrasing------i replaced each of them with the older 1567 (tube) unit that didn't have problems---------later when the 1592-B was introduced they solved all the problems and it proved to be really good-----------John---------if you want an individual output from each input just look at the schematic pictured on the side of each of the 1588 input modules--------i think it is pin 7 that is the output????--------at any rate just run a wire from that output pin on the octal socket to wherever you want to feed the signal---------the gain will not ge controlled by the channel pot-------if you need a level control you can always tap into the signal at the pot...........RC
